Amped ‘93 is about the music that floods back into my mind when I think about the summer I turned 17.

Over that 12 months I began getting into clubbing in Manchester, I began to make “music” of my own, I fell in love, and I struggled with dark fears that took many long years to process.

Through all those moments though, I was never more obsessed with music, either mirroring my state of mind, or driving it up or down on a whim.

The songs are adapted versions of a linked writing project I released in 2021, called “1993, on Vinyl”. Like the poems in that collection, each song in this EP is based on a specific song I loved that year. Some of them interest me less, musically, 20+ years later, but can still move me when I listen back.
